Hi All
My uncle has got a bit of a screen obsession at the moment and I was wondering what a good all rounder is?
He will use it mainly for photos/graphics and the odd game, but certainly not a high end user.
Budget of up £250.
Any recommendations?

How about a nice IPS?

Thanks I had heard of IPS, it seems to give richer colours/better viewing angles (I have been out of the computing loop for a while :/)
I haven't seen the LG, struggling to find reviews for it....
The favourites for IPS (I think??!) seem to be
AOC I2757FM
Acer S275HLbmii
Then non IPS
Asus VE278 range (although a few different variants)

After years of using the Dell Ultrasharp range I'm finding it very hard to move away from it for my next monitor choice of the Dell U2713

My 24" Ultrasharp lasted a good 8 years before finally blowing a cap (which I'm still going to replace but using as an excuse to go bigger)

1440p is the way to go, I could never go back
DGM IPS-2701WPH (sorry i can post URL links as im a newbie)
Search for the above, its way over your budget at £360 currently but I have seen them drop to below 300 in the past.

Caveat emptor
And remember to allow for 20% VAT and a small handling fee (shouldn't be any customs charges).
OTOH A safer bet would be a refurbished or 2nd hand Dell of course.

I recommend the AOC I2757FM. I have it an the picture, input lag and response time is great.
I'll second thatBut within your price range, you're probably better off looking at 1080p rather than 1440p; the former is also a more practical gaming resolution, if you only have a modest graphics card.
Having checked out a few reviews at TFT Central, the BenQ GW2750HM seems to be quite good, and reasonably priced at about £188:

Lovely monitor had about 6 months so would recommend it![]()
I use a Dell Ultrasharp 23" for photos and gaming, it's pretty much spot on.
Had a Dell ips for awhile now and love it.
I use a dell ultrasharp 23" for gaming and love it. Still want a 27 " though
Although i have a Dell IPS, i'm debating getting one of these 144hz screens, like the Asus one. Colours might not be as good, but the smoothness looks awesome.
I've got 2 perfectly good 24" ones and I still find myself wanting to trade up to a 27"....I don't get why :/
I knew the feeling. I had a perfectly good eyefinity setup with 23" ips screens and have now traded it to a dgm 27" and my dell ultrasharp and at the moment I dont regret it especially when the dgm only cost me £300 new.
I have a 27" LG IPS monitor and I'm well chuffed with it. Its only 1080 but its more than good enough for my old eyes lol
