ASUS VE247H 24 inch LED Widescreen Monitor

I have just bought this monitor with which, so far, I am very pleased. I would like to connect a Video Cassette Recorder to it just to playback videos. I realise that I wouldn't be able to do any recording.
The VCR only has a scart output, & I hoped to connect it to the monitor by a scart/vga cable (which I haven't bought yet) but the following warning is on the cable specs.
"This cable is not compatible with Laptops and computers use. The input screen must support a horizontal scan rate of 15.625KHz- (MOST projectors, plasma and LCD panels do, whereas CRT monitors dont)."
The specs for the monitor include the following:-
    Vertical Refresh Rate 76 Hz
    Horizontal Refresh Rate 83 kHz
Can anybody advise this numpty whether it will work?

I've not used the same monitor as you, but in my experience(Plugging a scart VCR via scart/vga adaptor into a VP930) it didn't work. I think those scart/vga adapters only work if the vga port is on a TV or something else that accepts a scart input signal via the vga socket. http: // www .epanorama.net/documents/vga2rgb/scart. html explains it pretty well
