    Wallpaper site safety

I am looking for Monet wallpapers for my wife's monitors (I will rotate about 6-10 different wallpapers on each monitor), but I find it difficult to know if the sites I find are safe. I guess that if you have to pay for the images, a site would be relatively safe. Can anyone give me some advice?

    Regards,

    Hans L

Not sure what you mean by safe or why paying would make something more safe. As usual, website vary in reputation - something like the online site for a british art gallery should be pretty genuine. Otherwise check out google reviews for sites, use a DNS like openDNS that help filter results, and keep your anti-virus up to date etc. Consider turning off scripts too.

Why not just download images from Wikipedia and museum archives and the like?

By safe I mean this: is the site that I started downloading from, discovering that the file to be downloaded was an .exe file, safe? I don't think so!!!

Agreed, I wouldn't download an executable for something like that.
