It's what you see when you pause a video trying to give you a seizure.
If not monitor aspect ratios maybe paper size ratios?
very well done indeed
1280x1024 possibly the most popular resolution for a very very long time. I still see these in work places daily
1680x1050 I'd say equally popular, before 1080P Hi Def made the world think that 1920 was the defacto width for a battle field or space-ship bridge
1920x1080 must be the numero uno after all this time
2560x1080 someone prolly found the panels cut well, and two lots of the 1280 width made lots of sense for people wanting bragging rights
2560x1440 one of, I think, the cleverer sizes and immensely useful for many more people that ever got to use it because it stayed too expensive for too long imho
3840x2160 aka 4K.... likley to leap frog the 2560x1440 I'd say.
thank you all for your excelent guessing
I delierately didn't put in 1024x768 as its too far gone now.. and also I ignored 1920x1200 which is a superb res but was eclipsed by 1920x1080 for value for money

Ah, zakky, I think you got the ratios wrong on that one then. I'm pretty sure your largest green square is 16:10 ratio, not 16:9. Excellent game though
Personally I've always been a big fan of the 4:3 ratio: I still have a 1024x78 monitor to use as a secondary, and I passed on my 21" CRT to the step-son who is enjoying playing his games at 1600x1200 @ 85Hz
For me 21" 16x12 is still the peak of resolutions, but I think the CRT will be going after this house - just too bulky to keep moving
with us. Not sure what I'll replace it with though....

I made it to proper size pixel perfect (ie vast)and then shrunk it as one jpeg...
I promise.. I promise.... I promise....
