    usability of a 4k monitor/desktop

    anyone gone there yet?

bought a nice dell 28" to replace the apple screen and the dell 24 and i feel like ive made a mistake.

    heres why.

the mouse is unusable. you've got 3800 pixels by 2000 or something. thats a lot of ground to cover with a mouse cursor. the buttons youre moving to are now so small its nigh on impossible to hit them. theres always a little fiddling, you never land on them immediately. so actually getting around windows is a bit of a struggle.

I've got scaling on. I'm actually scaling 150% right now, so its a little easier to use, but id prefer the extra space that 125% would allow me.

I'm using a gaming mouse, steel series sensei i think it is. I've had a fiddle with the settings for that in ss engine software and its helped, but not sorted the issue. could the resolution of the mouse be part of the issue? do i need to buy a less fancy mouse?

so, anyone gone there and anyone got any ideas to make it more usable?

You shouldn't have any DPI issues. If you're scaling at 150%, it probably looks like 2560x1440 - I'm using a mouse with a 2500 DPI sensor and find it to be okay. Try changing the tracking speed in windows?
