27" 1440p Monitor Assistance
I'm in the market for new monitor and have been looking at going for something 27" or higher, with 1440p resolution and preferred more than a 60hz refresh rate.
The ROG Swift is not an option, it's one input is a little limiting as there are times I'll be plugging a PS4 into it, not to mention the eye-watering £580 asking price.
I had been eye-up some of Acer's new offerings, primarily the XB270HA (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LX2J17...oding=UTF8&me=) and the XG270HU (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-XG270HU...ywords=XG270HU), both are 27" 1440p 144hz, the difference being G-Sync and Free-Sync, the G-sync one being slightly more expensive.
I'm primarily an nvidia user, but also looking to upgrade my gpu in the upcoming months - not really fussed about red or green so long as it powers my games well,
The choice of monitor is likely to influence the decision of gpu upgrade.
My question is, does anyone have any advice on the monitor selection, or have something they would recommend around the £350 price point.
Also if anyone knows where I can get either for cheaper than amazon, that would also help.
Edit: turns out the XB270HA is only 1080p. - Does anyone have any G-Sync monitors at 1440p recommendations?
Re: 27" 1440p Monitor Assistance
2560x1440 or 3440x1440
(I can guess because only one is currently available at 27", the TV notation just irks me because horizontal resolution makes a big difference for computer use).
I tend to run monitors until they die so I would go for VESA's adaptive sync ('freesync') as it's part of the DisplayPort standard rather than nVidia's proprietary effort. If you're more likely to pass on or sell the monitor in a few years time then G-Sync is a possibility.
Quad 2560x1440 (5120x2880) is probably a few years away from mainstream because of the need for DisplayPort 1.3 so that's less of a concern than buying a 1920x1080 screen now.
Re: 27" 1440p Monitor Assistance
There is another option from the Acer camp, a 27" 144hz monitor with G-Sync and an IPS panel. If I didn't already have the ROG Swift then I would be strongly considering this for myself. It's a much higher ticket price than the Acer's you listed about at a shade under the £600 mark but if you want a monitor to last you a good few years to come then it is worth adding to your short list for consideration.

I think Outwar6010 has one of the Q-Nix monitors which is another of the Korean import brands, these import models do seem to come highly recommended.

Yep and I'm enjoying mine quite alot.

Do you know if it is worthwhile going for one the PixelPerfect ones. I was also looking at just biting the bullet and buying something like the Acer X34 and being done with the search.
Re: 27" 1440p Monitor Assistance
I have an Asus MG279Q, which is around 450, but it is 27@ 1440p@144hz and I absolutely love it, however it is a freesync monitor, so to take full advantage you would need an amd gpu

I recommend a Dell U2715H. Awesome monitor for around $459 (Amazon)

I've narrowed my scope down to the new ROG Swift PG279Q or the Dell S2716DG. The Asus is preferred as it's an IPS display, 165hz refresh rate and g-sync.
