    Amazon Basics Monitor Arms

    Hi All,

Thought I would just bring these things to everyone's attention as I think they are a pretty good deal. I don't want to put it in the bargains section, as it seems to be cleaned out fairly regularly and this isn't a limited time special offer.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics...cs+monitor+arm

I've tried quite a few "budget" monitor arms over the years with success in some areas (Viewmate) and horrendous failure in others (Novus, Maclean). The one monitor arm that HASN'T let me down in any way is the Ergotron MX for my big beefy Dell 30".

Ergotron are a pretty reputable name in the industry so they are a fairly safe bet and this arm is basically an Ergotron LX with an Amazon badge for £15-20 less than anywhere else I can see on the net.

I know there are some people on here who have had some good results with other brands (such as AllCam), but I'm super happy with this and may well get another!

Wowsers, that's a lot of movement and a lot of money! I got a monitor stand as my desk wasn't that deep so didn't need to much lateral movement, hence ended up with a Cable-Mountain-Single-Vertical-Monitor one. Fine with a 27" Dell screen (though currently in the loft as I've gone wall mounted at the moment). Horses for courses though!

I use an AllCam GSD110 - Cheaper than the Ergotron, even an Amazon rebadge.

I'd never actually touch an Ergotron again - Maybe they've improved since our last ones all broke and I hope yours holds up, but the reputation they had was more like an understatement IMO.

    Re: Amazon Basics Monitor Arms

I have a couple of these at home:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duronic-DM65...rch_detailpage

They're OK but not amazing - if I adjust them (in any way) they fairly frequently "loose their grip" and slowly tip either all the way up or all the way down (i.e. facing the ceiling or the floor) which is rather annoying though the reach, height and rotation ("roll") adjustments seem to hold fine.

Not something I have ever considered purchasing. my wife would love this as would be one less thing for her to clean under, and it would save the dining table getting wrecked.

As long as it has the correct VESA bracket, its more about weight than it is about size. Max weight is ~11KG

    Re: Amazon Basics Monitor Arms

This one would be fine assuming the monitor has VESA mounts?

    Re: Amazon Basics Monitor Arms

Had some good experiences using the single and double VonHaus arms on Amazon (cant post links).

Recommended them to some colleagues and they are also happy.

The Ergotron has been holding up my 27" for over a year. I constantly move my monitor. The arm shows no sign of giving out. I highly recommend it.

    Re: Amazon Basics Monitor Arms

The ergotron mx is excellent but make sure you check your desk can take it. I had an mx but the desk I use had a rear cable managment beam which stopped me from being about to adjust it. Had to return it because of that...
