Question Mounting a projector to a ceiling - Epson EH-TW650 - 88 inch visible screen

    Hello all

I recently got an Epson TW650 1080//p 3100 Lumens projector. I have checked it out on a white wall in mum's house and it's amazing. I have pretty much already chosen a screen for it (88 inch diagonal viewing windows, manual, 1.3 gain) and am wondering as to options to mount it to the ceiling.

As far as I can tell there is no standard for mounting holes on projectors (unlike VESA standard for TVs) and I need something like 0.5 - 1.0?> meters down from the ceiling. Those are very rough numbers, by the way!!. I have found on ebay a suitable ceiling mount that's a height of 13" - 20" telescoping extension.

The only problem is that with customs and all it would come to like £80 - twice as much as I'm likely to get my screen for and considering Ikea a complete rip off.

I am thinking somehow a 3D Printed solution could be made by a professional outfit... I would have to have someone draft a CAD drawing and have it customised for the projector. Would that be significantly cheaper?

Any other general suggestions? I'm not entirely sure what I'm asking but any input appreciated.

    Thank you all.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)

A quick search came up with this universal mount on Amazon:

Your best bet might be to post a message on Avforums.com though, as I'm sure there must be many other people in a similar situation to yourself.

Yep that's what you want or one of many like it.
Universal mounts are great, there's different types, I've found the ones like that with flexible arms that extend best.
ps not only are the hole positions not standard, but the number can vary, some have 4 and some only 3, screw size can vary too but tend to be m4

One thing I'll mention about ceiling mounts is the anchor point, fixing the arm securely to the ceiling is the hardest part.

height is dependent on the screen height, basically level with the top of the screen

If you want to save some money, don't worry about a fancy screen, a flat+smooth+level section of wall and some matt white paint is all you really need.

edit: i'm pretty sure that projector has "quick corners" which is one of the best features to ever come to projectors, it take all the hassle out of alignment and keystoning and one of the reasons I love epson projectors.
