    Asus MG279Q vs Acer XF270HU

Having decided to give a 144Hz monitor a go, and feeling that whilst ultrawide monitors are good for the extra screen space and POV in games, they perhaps need a little more development.

So I've narrowed it down to these two monitors - the Asus MG279Q and the Acer XF270HU.

They're both based on the same IPS panel I believe, so there's probably not much between them.

The reading I've done suggests the ASUS has slightly better build quality, but has an issue with the range of Freesync.

The Acer is a bit cheaper and has ULMB, but overdrive seems to be broken.

Does anyone have experience/opinions on whether there is a definite winner here? I will be using it for a mixure of desktop apps and games.

    Thanks.

I've done plenty of reading on both monitors and I expect it's hard to go wrong with either, but I've decided to give the Asus MG279Q a whirl.

Arrived this morning - just set it up - I'll give it a better test later.

Re: Asus MG279Q vs Acer XF270HU

    Greetings,
How is the new monitor working out?
I currently have a (24") LG 24M77, which I must confess it pretty good in most respects but methinks it is time to have a larger screen.
