Budget monitors - Preferably 24 inch+

Guys,

So I bought a monitor not too long ago. Actually, it was a monitor for a freind but not that this changes anything. The monitor has come faulty, there is no sound output (They sent a replacement and the same issue, so perhaps a faulty batch). I have already got confirmation that the monitor is faulty from the manufacturer.

My question is, does anyone have any recommendations for any good, budget monitors. I'd like to keep costs under £100, but can stretch to £120. I'm looking for at least a 24 inch monitor, which will be used for work purposes, nothing too fancy.

The monitor that was faulty was the Acer KA241Y 23.8" Full HD LED Monitor.

Does it need to be flat or is a curved monitor fine?

Having said that I can’t see if it has built in speakers or not. I know no one uses built in speakers these days, but it’s a requirement nonetheless

Forgot to mention, there is no preference on curved or flat. Whatever fits within budget

i know this might be more than your budget, but the dell IPS 24" screens are really reliable and tend to have very good color reproduction. If you can't afford the U series try dropping down to the P series which can be virtually the same.

Iiyama are a cheap brand of reasonable quality kit.
You can get a 27" 1080p monitor for around £120 (I had one for several years) and a 24" one for a lot less.

i had a couple of iiyamas way back in the day. Colors on them were awful nasty washed-out yuk.. Equally that was right at the beginning of flat panel TN so I can't say modern ones are that bad. But it did put me off the brand a bit. The dell TN ones of the same era had much better colors to my eyes.

Apologies for the later reply. New system teething issues. For some reason when switching users, the monitor would lose connection to the system. A hard reset was required to get the system back up and running. Tried different cables and monitors etc, in the end we reverted back to an older version of the display driver and things seem to have stabilised. Hopefully that's the last of the issues, fingers crossed.

just be aware it's only 1920x1080 so the pixel pitch is on the large side. Might not be to everyone's taste.
