    27"+ Monitor >80hz and >1080p resolution for under £250?

Does such a thing exist, and if they do, are you aware of a decent one?

Im looking to upgrade but everything I see in this category appears to be over £300.

The closest I can suggest (and I'm also sort of in the market - though it's been an expensive couple of months) would be a Catleap 144 FAST from ebay (from Korea). You may get stung with shipping but if not it should offer 144hz, freesync, 1440p, IPS and 27" within (just...) your budget. Unfortunately since Linus Tech Tips did a spot they all seem to be out of stock.

it's the 80Hz that does it , why do you need 80 ? is 75 not good enough ?

Skinflint's filters are always worth trying:
    https://skinflint.co.uk/?cat=monlcd1...13263_25601440
So 75Hz seems to be no problem but as soon as you apply the 100Hz or better filter, the price jumps a lot.
