Question Any recommendations for Ultra wide monitor under £500?

    Hi all

Looking to replace my faulty Asus PG278Q 27" 144Hz monitor and was wondering if its possible to upgrade to good ultra wide monitor for under £550 with simuler specs to what i had or better? Or am i still better off getting another 27" 2560x1440p monitor?

Thanks for your time and help.

I've normally approached this from an AMD/freesync point of view, so I was worried the price premium for G-Sync was going to be an issue here, but apparently not! From the looks of things your old Asus was 144hz, 1440p, TN panel, with an advertised 1ms response time. Theres a monitor from Gigabyte, the G34WQC-EK, which is ultrawide (3440x1440) Freesync/G-Sync compatible, VA (much nicer colours etc than TN), 144hz, also advertised 1ms response time, and can apparently be had for £455. That might be a good place to start looking? It is curved though, and while I would advocate a gurved monitor for a wide ultrawide, it might not be to your taste.

Is there any specific reason why you want an ultrawide? For 27", I can recommend the Dell S2721DGF. 1440p 165hz. It gets well reviewed online.
