    Should I upgrade my monitor?

I am currently using a 27 inch 144hz 1440p monitor however I am going to be upgrading my pc soon getting a 3080 and r5 5600x, I'm just wondering if an upgrade is worth it as I am using some random off brand monitor from element gaming(ebuyer's thing) I've never not used an off brand monitor haha and I'm wondering if I should upgrade to a better one for better colours features etc, this one is supposedly 1ms, just wondering what difference it makes and if I should get 1440p 240hz(I do play some comp games) I would be looking to upgrade towards christmas 2021 so still quite a while off haha. Any help appreciated, thanks.

I would only upgrade for 2 reasons:

    1. Something wrong with your current monitor - maybe check reviews if there any of the thing so you can get a comparison over similarly specced screens?

    2. If you can stretch to a 4k 120Hz panel (starting £650)

Just a quick note on #1.. if you are happy with 1440p, the options are endless, high refresh rate, ultra wide, bigger screen etc. The difference between a cheaper and more high end monitor can be quite dramatic in terms of colour accuracy, speed, black levels etc. IPS and VA panels also make a difference. I'd do a little more research into what you think is better for you and go from there.
