    4k Monitor vs 4K TV?

If GPUs become available again, I might eventually think about updating to a 4K display - for things like music production, the bigger the display the better

However, If I went for 4K, I'd actually like to be able to read the small text - so since I'm using a 24" 1920 x 1080 display, that really means I'd like a 4K display to be about 48"+.
(At least for things like music or programming; not sure about gaming but big certainly doesn't hurt there either.)

It looks as though a big 4K TV might turn out cheaper than a big 4K monitor - so has anybody used a 4K TV for a PC display? What are the pros and cons of this?
Are there things about 4K TVs that make a 4K monitor a better choice? Or things that I'd need that only some 4K Tvs do?

Re: 4k Monitor vs 4K TV?

I've had PC's hooked up to a couple of different 4K TV's and both have been fine (cheap JVC and Hisense)... They were even good for gaming with no noticeable input lag or ghosting (most these days have a game mode setting). You'll of course be limited to a 60Hz refresh rate unless you spend loads on a 120Hz TV. HDR mode is also detected by Windows on 4K Tv's that support it, but cheap 4K TV's generally don't display HDR content too well.

A 4K TV should be perfectly fine for music production software I would have though.
