    Have to see what the Scrim have to offer.
    Yeah, they both live up to the Superweapons name now.
    I must have been hit by a nuke 6 times b4 I managed to strike back and wipe it out, most annoying when they hide it with a stealth generator so you can't target it with air units. It pays to have 2 bases when fighting against NOD and double the amount of power you require, so when one base gets hit by a nuke you don't loose power and in turn watch your defences shut down, heh.

    hehe. I usually set up 3 bases in all. Just send out the surveyor in the other two patches.

    Silly question, how do you set up an extra base...

    I can only keep up with the opposition until about 3 minutes into the game, then I run out of resources coz my harvesters are having to travel to far, and then I get trounced

    Build a surveyor, drive it out somewhere, then deploy it into an outpost (it's in the pane on the bottom-right of the screen when the surveyor is selected).

    It's in the support tab (second one) rather than buildings or vehicles, for some reason.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Yup, just as what Steve mentioned above or you could build another MCV (although more costly)

    Make sure you build a crane before building anything else. The crane lets gives you an additional tab for you structures so you can use one to build a refinery and the other tab power plants, barracks, etc as they are quick.

    Played it myself, the interface is a little clunky. All in all it's very cumbersome.

    The Cinematics are nice, but they always have been. Yes it's more like the older games then Generals was, but it's TOO like them.. There's no progression in gameplay.

    I was struggling with it to start with, until I worked out how you create another base area using a scout and put more refineries closer to the other Tiberian material. You'll need to keep up the number of refineries and harvesters in order to succeed.

    Worth it in the end, I tried it on Hard after this, can't work out how Nod manages to send a couple of vehicles to attack my base within about 3 minutes though!!!

    You suck at C&C

    It's pretty much identical to all C&Cs, so same things work - building order is vital, maximise harvesting when possible. Then it's just micro managing your attack units.

    That is the one thing that i applaud CNC Generals for.. there wasn't such a heavy load on micro management. It was just

    "yep, i've built my powerplant, supply depot and a barracks.. send in the troops!"

    Plus, the AI was a lot easier compared to CNC3, i mean.. i could fairly easily flatten a couple of very hards on Generals (no good against humans though ).

    There is a bit of an exponential difficulty curve i think.. ie on easy, the enemy doesn't take either of the two extra tiberium sites, you only really get attacked by infantry and the odd tank, and you are free to do what you like really.. If you crank it up to medium, the AI is a lot more aggressive.

    What i would like is for a difficulty that doesn't take ages, but doesnt mean that you get rushed within 3 minutes either. I like the idea on Cossacks with "Peacetime", so you can build up your units and then attack. Finishing a skirmish in ten minutes isn't my idea of fun.. i like the slow but steady onslaught - 25 mins is a good time..

    Brutal AI is the only way to play imho anyways.
    Still, if you are having trouble with Medium AI then why not use the Handicap function for the AI, adjust it until you are at a level you can contend with, but really, Medium? Come on, how old are you?

    ... too bloody old! I've been playing some RA2 against my housemate (he has a crappy laptop which struggles to run that), and RA2 'Hard' seems easier than C&C3 'Medium'... very strange - its not that they win, its that i build up my base, and then get pissed off at a constant onsalught of tanks/those bastard suicide-bomber people and give up!

    Suicide bombers can be most annoying although they are easily sorted out with a few well placed snipers.
    Power, Refinery, Barracks, more power, a couple defences (including 1 or 2 aa guns), war factory, build 2nd harvester, tech centre, shockwave cannon = makes short work of the NOD tanks.
    Garrison the building close to your base with rocket troopers and a sniper, makes a good outer defence b4 they reach your base.
    If u don’t wanna play against NOD then set it to GDI, saves stealth units and suicide bombers from annoying you, but you will have to deal with an onslaught on Orca/Firehawk attacks, not to mention the Mammoth tanks too.
    Typically NOD have the best defences, especially when you consider you can Overcharge the already powerful Obelisk of Lights then stealth them, the incoming units won't stand a chance.

    I found it was hard at the stat but quickly developed some tactics.
    Medium is too easy. The only problem Ive had is when they have a nuclear base and it's shrouded even when you get to their base. Best send in a spy plane beforehand and then use the emp shock to disable their power and finally let rip with an onslaught of Ion cannon and 4 groups of jets with mammoths and APCs with zonetroopers and rocketmen. Their base will be levelled in seconds.
