    Your Opinions on Co-op Games

Just thought I would make a thread about this, why on earth don't more games have some sort of co-op mode built in, I mean if games have some sort of co-op mode it is a major selling feature of a game.

I don't really fancy playing against other humans as this usually ends up with people cheating/exploiting to get the advantage over the other side.

The latest game I've had endless fun with was Rainbow Six Vegas

What do other people think about this?

Gears of War has resently made people aware how great CO-OP is... I've always loved it, used to play loads of System Shock 2 and Serious Sam co-op whenever I got the chance

Crackdown has co-op which is great, its just a shame its doesn't include split screen co-op for when a mate it round.

Tho as i said above, GoW has hopefully opened some eyes and we will see more of it

It's always more fun to beat a friend who may well be your equal than to team up against a computer thats only not beating you because the ai is limitted to be fair.

I'm in the middle of a long Civ4:WL game with a friend at the moment, and we both know peace is never going to happen, we want the challenge of destroying each other.

I've always loved co-op. More games need it! Iplay Quake 4 and Serious Sam co-op all the time, not to mention System Shock 2, Diablo 2 etc.

I do like the Vegas Co-Op it is a very nice feature. I think more games should ahve it.. I remember when I got perfect dark. I was amazed they had a co-op story mode.

Co-op is great. It should definitely be implemented in as many games as possible. Since playing Gears of War and Crackdown both in co-op, I'd definitely say it's something that adds to both games a great deal (Crackdown more so).

The only games that I ever played on co-op seriously were Halo 1/2 and GoW. It has to be said though that generally, co-op is wayyy more fun than just playing on your own.

I enjoy deathmatch and playing against my friends as much as the next person does however, it is simply a whole different experience to play with your friends in a game with a co-op mode like Serious Sam (and the Second Encounter).

All of a sudden, deathmatch and single player game modes seem so pultry by comparison but lets face it, they HAVE been around for donkeys ears and are VERY, very tired game modes.

A friend, my brother and myself recently battled all the way through all of the original Doom games in a three-man co-op

I'd like to point out that Halo on the PC was pants, why? Because it did not have a co-op mode unlike the Xbox version if it did, it'd easily been one on my all-time favourite games.

I'd like to point out that all the LANs at my friend's houses I've been to have only been memorable for the co-op games we played

I've stated many times on here before that EVERY game should have a co-op mode built-in as standard just in case, that said, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will be the sex if it has a co-op...(who wants to start a petition??)

I loved co-ops in Operation Flashpoint. Really made the game for me, especially when using Teamspeak too.

I finally got myself Rainbow Las Vegas at the weekend. A mate of mine (who has never played a 1st person on a console before) played split screen co-op all afternoon yesterday, was so much fun! Now he is going out to buy a 360 this week

Only anoying thing I find about Co-op, is joining up with some random on Live. Its never anywhere near as fun then playing with a mate and my problem is none of my friends are gamers.

I'd have thought it's not very often played.

To find time to play a 30hour campaign or so it hard enough for some people on their own. To find mutually available time is even harder.

Multiplayer stuff best suits quick bursts of play, and it sucks to have to keep starting from the same point in some co-op games.

I used to play Quake 2 and Baldurs Gate co-op, and the fun factor was immensly high - much better than playing on your own. However we never had the time to get all that far into either of them.

Sort out more episodic based co-op play, and you've got better chances of making it work.
