    Definately a geek.

All of those that call themselves stealth geeks are simply geeks in denial. Everyone that you think is unaware of your geekiness actually knows what you are so stop trying to hide it!

Based on people's opinions on the differences between two, I believe I must be a geek rather than a nerd.

Napolean Dynamite was a nerd, right?Definitely not like him.

Funny, i was having this discussion just the other day with a few friends. That's pretty much exactly what our conclusion was. But the rules really have seemed to have changed.

Although i like to just consider myself ahead of my time. I had an MP3 player year back and people went "geek!". Now even granma's have iPod's. I was the first person to have a mobile phone in my area, "Geek!" they shouted. I was the first person i knew to have a camera phone, "geek" they went. Now all my mates tell me they want a Squeezebox, and so on. Its the same with computer games now to.

You see now everyone is a Geek by previous standards, having gadgets is not only cool, but its almost socially unacceptable to not have various gadgets. Its the whole geek-chic thing the Guardian bangs on about.

Everyone is a geek about something, look at all the football geeks and car modding geeks and fishing geeks etc etc. Its a geeks world now if you ask me, being a geek is not about technology per say.

    Depends on the series.

The original Star Trek is very funny, due to the acting (Kirk and Spock ftw), the plastic sets, the green ladies, etc.

Next Generation is great. Watch it a lot.

All the others - Voyager, Deep Space 9, Enterprise - never watched an ep of any of them.

I like good TV, sci-fi or otherwise. Next Gen is great, Sopranos is great.

I try not to watch too many Yank dramas though, as mostly they aren't any good, people just watch them because they think Hollyoaks is good and will watch anything they are spoon fed by Sky. Lost, 24, etc. Never seen an ep of either, never will.

I do watch Newsnight though, so I am getting old, that much is certain.

The problem with american shows like lost and 24 is they never know when enough is enough. 24 hit it's peak with season 3 and I'm so fed up of it I've not bothered with the new series.

And lost is soon heading down the path of taking it too far. By the end of series 2 it seemed like the mystery was actually going somewhere and had some meaning. Half way or whatever through season three and it's quickly becoming apparent they're just pulling ideas out of their backsides for twist after twist and once the viewing figures drop I guarantee it will become a dawsons creek of love triangles.

The best us show by far is the shield IMO

Star Trek is a true geek show, we all know it's terrible tv but we love the idealism and concept so much we tolerate it

I'm still hooked on LOST. To the point where I've made notes on characters. Watched it up to Season 3 Ep 10! i've also bought a book based on the theories. Totally hooked.
