the question - will it be better than sup comm?

That mission annoyed the hell out of me, right pain in the ass.
You can't turn all the turrets on
You can't go rescue the MCV because the north-eastern NOD base will roll over your main base
The north nod base just sends wave after wave of vehicles at you, so it's really hard to break out
To complete it, when the MCV arrived, I then sent up a group of about 7 preds to the north base and took it out, it makes the rest of the mission a lot easier.
Yeah I built a big group of predators so i could attack the north base. So my harvesters and one side of my base were safe. Then used the same force with a a loads of rocket filled APC's to take the south east. Then got the MCV, built orcas and zone troopers and bobs your uncle.
So it's officially released today, even though most places have been selling it for a few days.
Of course this is EA so when you run home with your nice shrink wrapped, release day software don't forget to install patch 1.2
Are apples better than oranges?
Really different styles of game IMHO. C&C is so old school it's a selling point in itself. Sup Com feels like it's putting a modern spin on just one aspect of the RTS genre and the whole game is centred on it.
If you like single player games, especially scripted mission types, then C&C is designed with this in mind, and Sup Com sucks at it. But if you like big multiplayer or vs CPU battles then Sup Com has that aspect in spades. C&C is still fun in those aspects, but I just prefer the Sup Com style.
I'm old (35! Well I FEEL it!!) and I keep 'losing' the mouse cursor!
This hot girl came over to myspace last night, she twittered my yahoo till I
googled all over her facebook. Ask Jeeves...

I like C&C, but it does feel like your face is pressed into the battlefield. I keep forgetting to select units cos they are just outside the screen when amassing an army.
Totally spoilt by SupCom's zoom, I'm afraid.
I do like the gloss and feel of the different factions and the history behind them etc in C&C. But definately apples and non-apples. C&C has its merits, but I think I prefer SupCom's style of play.
C&C wins for the quick 10 min fun game though
I caved and bought it..and i'm impressed by how much better the performance is on the retail version compared to the demo
Only played the first few GDI missions and an online match so far, but great fun.
and theres a patch allready out for it....
My own opinion on the game, Am loving it way more then sup commander, it just feels like a more finished game.
