    PC Steering Wheels

Im looking at getting a steering wheel for my PC as Ive started enjoying driving games again.

I dont want to spend more than £30. I dont play driving games enough to warrant spending more.

Does anyone have any experience with these:

Logitech Formula Vibration Feedback Wheel £21.49
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=283885

Saitek R220 Digital Sports Steering Wheel £27.82
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=178578

    What I want to know:
    • Which of the above is better?
    • Are there any significant game incompatibilities I should know about?
    • Any other wheels Ive not considered?
    • Recommend me some good, recent driving games?

I used to have a old MS Sidewinder FF, which I replaced with a Logitech DFP recently. I'd be inclined to avoid cheaper wheels and hunt down a DFP, as the level of control and flexibility is far greater: All the extra PS2 buttons, I bind to POV, pit limiter, indicators, etc. If you're not seriously into racing, then a tour of ebay might unearth a bargain. I still have the old Sidewinder in the loft, which I'd consider flogging.
I don't play the more arcadey driving games, I'm solely driving Live for Speed, the multiplayer aspect is great and you have to drive and set up the cars properly. It's also capable of running on lower spec hardware and the differences in the car types and circuits gives a longevity to it. It's also a bit of a workout, when throwing an FXR around, when compared to the delicacy required for the LX6.

Slightly over your budget, but I have a Logitech Formula Force EX, and it does a pretty good job.

I may be worth checking that whatever wheel you're looking at is compatible with Test Drive Unlimited, it has some problems with certain wheels and sounds like a game you should take a look at

Thanks Toolsong - Ive been playing TDU since release and its made me think about getting a wheel.

The readme for the game lists the wheels with issues, which even includes Logitechs flagship G25 wheel!!!

The Formula Force EX wheel from Logitech is a beauty. It is soooo worth getting Force Feedback rather than vibration, or nothing at all. It adds an extra dimension to the game and you can pretend like it's exercise.

i have the Logitech Formula Vibration Feedback Wheel, and it works ok for me.

and for £15 (gamestation :/) you get more than what your paying for!

but i guess it depends on how much you play racing games...i only play the odd one, im currently playing TDU, and tbh its not that good for hours and hours of play.

amazingly tempted by a g25...if only i had the money and if it wern't for the fact they dont work too well in TDU
