Biggest question:
WHERE IS IT GONNA BE?!?
Some rumours on Wikipedia say it could be different areas of London. If it is, wonder if it will cover any other parts of this fine country?
London is high on the list, because so far the 3D games have followed roughly the same pattern as the 2D ones, the next in line being London.
Buckingham palace, apache, I'm there.

never been a fan of the grand theft auto games, except for the first and second one. Ever since then its been conceptually the same stuff, just different maps. Its even been on the same engine for years. But hey, if it sells, then why not?
I just find it hard to comprehend that Rockstar UK can only make games driven by a single ethos.
I would possibly be interested if they finally just had some sort of multiplayer involved.
Just something simple so me and a friend can drive around, I mean why don't more games have co-op modes nowadays
because if they had co-op mode, only one person would need to buy it for more than one persons satisfaction. In this day and age, driven by money and greed (lets face it ) this is not possible. I want to stress though that this point isn't aimed at Rockstar, the same goes for all companies. I just hold a grudge as they just produce the same game, with a different name
This is a whole new engine, based on the one for Table Tennis IIRC, and the engine between GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas was radically upgraded each time.
Also, Rockstar North, or DMA Design, aren't a "single ethos" company, it's just they know that's what sells by the million and they aren't a big enough studio to do lots of games at the same time, particularly when you consider how much work a GTA game must entail. Also, consider the studio is the evolution of the one that created Lemmings and Unirally. And, IIRC, Manhunt didn't really go down too well tbh.
i wholeheartedly agree with everything you've said. I'm just going to sit on my high horse and take the moral highground though
I fear sounding radically conservative when i say that a game that sells by the million, whilst the user drives around shooting people, sleeping with prostitutes and generally causing havoc, but it must be said.
I just think that the games have become too serious. Originally, the aerial view was classic. Driving around, on the rampage killing elvis fans to get a bonus, and finding a tank in the middle of the city to wreak havoc. Alot has changed since the release of that game.
I don't really have a moral problem with the games they produce tbh. They set out to shock, but it's all very cartoonish, and I just equate it to movies which have dealt with themes such as this for years.
That said, I do think they're a bit repetitive and samey, although I like the sandbox aspect few games have bothered with. And no other company, despite trying, has managed to succeed in beating GTA at it's own game - looking at you True Crime, Getaway, Driv3r.
All said and done, really I'm just secretly hoping for a Unirally sequel.
