it ain't always worth getting a patch just for the sake of it, you may have to if the game is playable online but if you have a good single player game that is working fine u don't have to patch it.

always check the release notes of the patch to see what the fixes actually are.
if it's some gfx card and OS related things u may not need it anyway.

http://www.gameshadow.com/ . Their program finds all the patches then lets you download I think. I managed to win a subscription via jolt.

On GTA3 there is a file called gta3 (in XP it comes up as a configuration file) opened that on my pc it says 1.0
The latest patch for it is here.. (1.1)
    http://www.avault.com/pcrl/patches_temp.asp?patch=gta3

Tony Hawk 4, i have it but it doesnt say anything about what version it is
But there is only one patch for it, use the auto-updater for that as well version is 1.01

Rainbow six, not sure try the .ini file same for UT2K3 they have an .ini file named the same as the game normally that has the version number in there.

For Rainbow six, try this it will patch it from version 1.0-higher to 1.51
    http://www.avault.com/pcrl/dlhttp.as...to_1.51_uk.exe

And for Unreal tournement 2003, theres a patch here to update it to the latest version and a few new maps for multiplayer.
    http://www.avault.com/pcrl/patches_temp.asp?patch=ut2k3

C&C generals has an auto-updater so just use that if you want to update to the latest version of the game.

Or patch it with this file
