So how many of you still playing Oblivion?

I've just started playing this game again from scratch with some third party mods installed for the first time. What a difference. I've only installed few but they made the game tougher, more realistic and added tons of new shiny armours, weapons and enemies. I'm still only few hours into the game and wandering around Imperial City area but already collected some nice new armours and helmets from nearby cave as a loot. It's still basically the same game but it feels different now and combat is so exciting(prepare to die a lot) and you will be rewarded with nice loots which you haven't seen before in the original game. I must admit I'm completely hooked again. If you haven't tried any mods before like me, I recommend you to try Oscuro or Francesco mods. They are compilation of popular mods made by modding community so kind of huge in size but fairly easy to install even for beginner and well worth downloading IMHO. If you are broke and have no money to buy a new game for easter, why don't you give oblivion another go? I think you will like it(well at least I did).

I always found obvlivion really time consuming. You'd kill a hard enemy and get a crap reward from it...

I'll try those mods out, i have them on one of the PCFormat disks somewhere.

Had it since release and still haven't completed the main quest, though I imagine I've spent more time modding it than actually playing it. Looking forward to playing Shivering Isles as well, it looks like a good expansion.

I was up to the bit where you have to close all the gates outside the towns on he main quest last year about 2 weeks after it was released then stopped playing till Jan this year. I found the gates to be quite tedious and boring when you are higher levels. Now I have finished the main quest and all of the guilds and clocked up around 94 hours play in total. I have done everything ingame there is to now except the collector quest which I am now working through.

Shivering Isles is going to be delivered somepoint this week and I am really looking forward to some new content.

I had played it until a few weeks ago, but i had to say i did get annoyed at the amount of bugs there were.
One of which was Gray Fox not being in the place that he should be to get a mission from him...

Oh this game sure takes up a load of time, but it's one of the best games I've played in my life.
I went back to playing it briefly for a few hours a few weeks back but not like last year when I had more time and I was truely hooked. I might pick this up again from where I was in my first and only quest. I was doing so many of the side quests I didn't even finish the main quest.

I recently bought the Knight of the nine too but not played it yet and really wanting to pick up Shivering isles.

BUT I'm in the process of upgading my graphics card and thinking very hard about whether the £200 investment into an 8800 would bring this game to another level.

For those who have yet to play this game, believe me it's one hell of a game and the amount of effort that has gone into creating the game and world is astounding.

Been playing a lot of C&C3 though.

I also have done Knights of the Nine. Quite short really, got through it in around 6 hours start to finish. Must admit it was pretty good.

I recently upgraded my graphics card, processor and board to a Athlon 64 bit 3500+, ASUS board and ATI X1950 Pro. Oblivion looks simply amazing. Everything is maxxed out and HDR is enabled, gave the game a whole new lease of life for me.

To be honest - I didnt think that the storyline was that captivating and compelling, but boy, who ever thought that trees, grass, water and sunlight would keep me so glued to the screen...

As stated above, it got a bit um... boring... near the end with the whole tunnel search, although I did quite a lot of the side quests also. Dont think that I will go back to it, maybe after I get a better GPU - to run that game full whack would be a sight to behold I reckon!

but I used a few mods - like the better torches one - which made it seem like you werent using a match... Enjoyable, but not my fave RPG experience really.

Thanks. Not bad for aging X1800XT I guess. But only playing at 1024x768 with 4xAA and 16xAF, ultra high setting with..... medium texture.lol. I added short grass and low poly grass mod and getting about 40fps outdoor which isn't too bad.
