For UK PS3 Gamers Over 25

I hope it is ok to mention this here. I didn't see any harm in doing do so.

PlanetMGC (www.planetmgc.com) is a gaming community mainly for UK gamers over 25 years of age. I am just a normal member but am so impressed with the site that I wanted to pass on its details to you. PS3 games are regularly organised for RFOM, Motorstorm, F1 among others and members are welcome to add their own sessions to the calendar for any games.

If you are based in the UK and are over 25 years of age then why not come and have a look at www.planetmgc.com and join the forums.

Why do you have to be over 25? Is there naughty content on the site or something?

Fair enough, it is a valid opinion. Maybe I'll just briefly explain why I signed up. Originally I had a XBox 360 (now PS3 though) and found playing on XBox Live a very hit and miss affair. I never enjoyed playing online with kids shouting rubbish down their mics and messing around. Kids who when they are losing decide to just disconnect or worse in, for example, PES6, pause the game trying to force you to disconnect.

I got so fed up with it I started looking for a mature online community of gamers and found PlanetMGC which is exactly that. Now online gaming is so much more fun having the peace of mind of knowing I am playing with maturer, more like minded people.

I can understand completly your state of mind, and I don't play certain games on live with matchmaking facilities because chances are I'm going to end up in a match with a bunch of young people as you said ruining the experience. I was part of a 25 plus ut2004 clan at one time and unlike the conventional multiplayer matches the pre arranged ones were not full of knobbers annoying me Can't help feeling that the ps3 article is a bit biased on the main page but I would say that being a 360 owner.

Hang on a minute..... does the PS3 have any online enabled games yet?

    Edit:
Oh it does... I got confused with the Wii and Nintendo not releasing the API to developers yet for online play.

I'm 19 (20 this year) and I don't exhibit any of the behaviours mentioned. But, its their community, if they want 25+ they can have 25+. I would just say, that there are a fair few gamers that aren't 25+ but aren't exactly like kiddies.

I know of a few old scottish guys on XBL acting the goat at the weekend after a few beers so why alienate kids and people under 25 when there are cases of the over 25's being just as disruptive in some of the games.

Obviously not but if you have to ask then yes.

they maybe want to limit the type of people they are playing with. Maybe when you get older than 25 your reactions are slower hence they can win more often.

I also know people who are your age that act like 12 so I suppose you can never limit this, but saying over 25 is not generalising that if you under that your a child.

I can't answer that directly as I don't know why 25 particularly. I guess a line was drawn and that is where they decided to stick it. The site started long before I joined so I cannot say why they decided on that figure.

I've found a few mature gaming sites and they all seem to set the figure at 25 so they must all come up with the same number for a reason. Even the earlier poster mentioned a mature clan for 25+ so it is quite common.
