Dawn of War - Winter Assault probs

Hi all,
I'm struggling to get the Winter Assauly expansion to work on my PC. I have Dawn of War installed, without a no CD crack or anything, no mods.
I read that you have to patch DoW up to install WA, so I applied patches 1.01, 1.10, 1.20, 1.30, 1.40, then tried the install. All good, until I try to play it, and I get an error message about a .dll that couldn't be found.
Can anyone offer any advice?

Have you tried patcing up Winter Assault also?

Must admit when I had DoW and Winter Assault I didn't have to patch up DoW before installing Winter Assault. Possibly worth trying removing everything and start a fresh install without paching up DoW. Usually when you get an expansion it has the needed patches for the main game included in the expansion installation.

I would also try them on another machine if possible to make sure you don't have a faulty discs.

I think the winter assault disk automatically patches DoW if it's not updated already.

are you running xp or vista? I had problems using the in-game option to patch in Vista (on all three games - DoW/WA/DC) and had to download and run the install the patches manually.

I'm using XP. I actually have it working now, second fresh install, no patches and it worked - wierd.
