Dirt PC and xbox 360 demos

Both demos are out now , 360 version is obviously on xbox marketplace and the pc version can be found here (mirrors currently getting hammered)

    PC Demo Link

The game looks really stunning, if you have the pc for it anyway and even marginally better than the 360 version which also looks great.PC version has both single and online multiplayer while the 360 version is single player only.

    Definete must download imo.

So is the PC demo, no chance of getting it yet. I wonder if the demo is on rapidshare.

    Anyone else's initial impressions?

I cant get it running well @ 1680x1050 (ie native res) at any setting, even with everything low/off. feels like 15-20fps, may download fraps to see.

The handling is *completely* different to CMR2005, the subaru feels really arcadey compared to 2005, but im not sure how much this is my input lagging due to not being able to run at a decent frame rate - 640x480 still felt quite arcadey, but not as bad - looked crap tho!

Even on 'low' you have FSAAx2 by default, so I'm not quite sure what kind of rigs they are expecting everyone to have, even with everything at low and FSAA off, it looks good (shadows suffer tho)...

Think i'll grab fraps and take some screenshots.

The dirt buggies was completely unplayable, rally felt *so* arcadey and ran crap, the only 'bareable' one was the 3rd one... maybe I *do* need a 8800gts

    [e!]

Just got fraps, which told me on the 3rd race i was getting between 23->31 fps, with about 26 average... if i crank anything else up it'll drop below that and become completely unplayable!

    screenshots:

Wasn't impressed with the 360 version TBH, felt far too arcadey to me, could basically floor it round the entire track.

Have to say I loved the demo, I was going to buy this game anyway 360 version of course, can't be doing without live! I doubt the pc demo would even run on my computer with similar levels of graphics without crippling frame rate. I really liked the starts very gran turismo eske I thought as the camera looks at your car in different angles.

I really enjoyed the demo on the 360. I'm not really into racing games tbh but I felt that I could get stuck into it straight away which is always a good sign. I'll definitely consider buying this.

The demo was ok, not quite what I was hoping to expect, but from the one lap I did before going straight back on GuitarHero 2 I think it could have potential, I will be interested to see what the finished full version is like.

I really enjoyed the 360 demo. Easy to get into for a quick blast by the feel of it. Also a bit of an adrenaline rush, with the sense of speed being really good. Liked the force feedback as well.

I thought that the 360 did have on-line play? The achievements mention winning ranked matches.
