    I don't love games. Why?

Hi guys. All friends of mine like gaming, yet I do not. Once when I was a teenager I played Transport Tycoon Deluxe and UFO2 all the summer days long. After that it seems like I stopped love playing games. Is it normal? Whan I try to start playing a game it seems to me so boring.... and I play no longer than 5 minutes. That's the way it is...

I'm playing through System Shock 2 (With texture mods to make it look a little better, damn this game is tough), Freelancer, Deus EX Invisible War, Escape from Monkey Island and Discworld Noir (woohoo it is working properly under XP and I havn't experenced the intro or journal crash). Going to install TRON 2.0 tommorow at somepoint, great older game.

Found myself going back to older games to take a break from the games I can sit there for hours on like Guild Wars Nightfall, Silverfall (Superb game go out and buy it now if you like Diablo, Steven W done an excellent review of it on HEXUS Gaming, unsung hero when it comes to holding you infront of the PC) and now Dungeon Runner.

Recently went through Grim Fandango, Riddick EFBB, Mafia (halfway through it at the min at the carpark level where you get ambushed) and Indiana Jones Emperors Tomb.

At times I do get a bit sick of gaming but like mentioned something new comes along that you really enjoy. I tend to play it for ages and then drop it going back to something I got sick of previously. Bit of a viscious (is that how you spell it, my mind has drawn a blank! ) circle really.

Yeah I'm exactly the same, I get a new game, play it for a while, get bored, how long until I get bored depends on how good the game is, bad ones last only a couple of hours, good ones can keep me on for a few weeks.

After I get bored of the new game, I either buy a new one or revisit old ones. But some weeks, theres nothing new that interests me, and I look through my CD wallet and go, I don't really want to play any of those.

I find that I'm more willing to go back to a 360 game, I look through the achievement list and think, hmm I haven't got that one yet, doesn't look too hard, I'll give it a try, end's up breathing new life into a game. Although unfortunately, once I've got all the achievements, I'll very rarely pick it up again.

I stopped playing games for a good few years, I discovered the pub during that time, and to be fair all the games coming out at the time were either mediocre or just expansions on the big franchises, it took Resident evil 4 to get me back into computer games properly and I'm just as enamoured with them now as I was then.

You just need to find an exceptional title that'll reel you in nicely, if you've got a ps2 I'd highly reccomend shadow of the colossus to be fair, its jaw droppingly good.

actually, it's a question i ask myself a lot - why do some people simply not get "real" games? add up the hours they've spent with sol.exe and winmine.exe and you'll get a crazy figure, yet throw them something with atmosphere and a story, and they run screaming. any guesses?

Hi, great to hear from someone on the 'other side' - you're probably a publishers dream as they'll want to try and find ways to tap into that market

It's perfectly normal, infact I would say us gamers are actually in a minority - it just so happens that this minority mostly overlaps with the type of people who are tech savy and would post on a forum like Hexus.

There's definitely an element of maturity about it - I don't play games with the same fervour that I used to when I was much younger, and it now takes a very 'good' game to hold my interest. In my case there are still plenty of hooks though that do get my interest, I would suggest most people have less hooks, and the general 'any game is interesting' feeling has gone.

This game really is legendary. It's got a unique interface control and wonderful graphics. Lots of novel puzzles and you even get to teach your own creature and affect his personality. Watch him dance and fart with the natives.

I think I may go back and visit this after I finish with stalker.

The tron bikes are great if you play a mulitplayer game. I used to do a few lan parties with friends and this was a winner every time. Intense but hysterical.
