Sorry, I buggered off for the weekend. I was about to write something indignant, but you're bang-on, Dragonball is both weird and Japanese. Although for Japanese stuff, it's not that weird. Dragonball Z is an animé series (progressing from Dragonball (comedy with some fighting) through Dragonball Z (more serious fighting, still plenty of comedy) to Dragonball GT (not good)) which is essentially lots of posturing while a really nice guy who is the most powerful chap in the universe is about to destroy something/someone evil, while the nice guy's closest rival (who hates him) keeps threatening to kill him and then helps him and some other stuff happens like they take driving lessons and occasionally bugger off to other planets and the main guy spends a lot of time dead and in the afterlife and sometimes entire cities are destroyed and millions of people are killed and then they're all wished back with the dragonballs and there's some time travel and some characters fuse together and there's a lot of 'good guys' who fight quite a lot and.... ummm... so on.

The game is a very good beat-em-up, whether you've seen Dragonball (Z) or not. If you are a DBZ fan, then it's an essential purchase. Loads of playable characters, destructable scenery (having skyscrapers collapse around you while you fight a skyscraper-sized werewolf thing is great), lots of moves and special moves, lots of modes of play (tournaments, adventure mode, challenge trees, even... TWO-PLAYER mode), and loads of jokes (not all of them in-jokes). The graphics look great, but they are cel-shaded animé-style, so if you don't like that, you won't like these.

"One of the best anime brawlers around. Period."

I'm tempted by the Mortal Kombat game, too - apparently there's some sort of karting mode? IGN rated DBZ:BT2 above MK as a beat-em-up, though, but heck! The last MK game I played seriously was Mortal Kombat 2. On the Gameboy.

Rumor has it that nintendo will announce info on mario kart for the wii at E3 in July. Will have to keep an ear out for that when the time comes.

360 for a bigger range of software and good online play with HD capability

WII - novelty gaming, great for a groups of people to play with a few drinks. Not sure of longevity on this one

Personally I have both, but then that bonus in December did come in useful

But the 360 is the same as the PS3, and PS2, and Xbox, and PS1, etc, etc.

Its the same thing - a box that play games slightly better looking than the previous box.

The Wii is the first attempt in 9000 years to do something different.

    Do you see?

    Ahhh Stewart.

Take a deep breath and relax man you'll give yourself a prolapsed hernia trying to teach the masses that fanboism is not the new black.

Xbox360 is good at what it does great and thats play online with a few friends and run as a media centre extender system when needed.

The wii is a "group" thing and really only comes into effect when more than 1 person is playing.

As such, I'll be getting a Wii but in a short while once more class A titles appear on the market.

thats the reason for a lot of people...even people who dont know they want one.....suddenly their PC catalogue in under their TV, and it plays games too

Wii...for me...didn't hit the mark. But I shall await new titles. Tennis and bowling were good for a giggle...but when it comes to it....PS2 Guitar Hero, followed by drunked Dance mat and finally SingStar......that's a night to remember.

Wii is better at the group thing than the others, yes, because its great for a few laughs when you are pissed, but its still a 'proper' console - it still has Nintendo behind it, and it will still have the big hitters. And these games will be better to play on your todd.

Zelda is a game to play pissed up with your mates? No.

Zelda is the best single player game released so far this generation? Yes. (Gears of War is fun, but the single player missions are over far to soon and then it becomes a multiplayer game)

Not to go overboard on the Wii, I think not only will it soon have the best single player games avalible but is also great for mulltiplayer. The 360 knocks it dead for online of course.

And yeah, I'm well aware of what the 360 is good for, i used to have one. It was good... not good enough to stop me selling it though.

Zelda's good mate - but fishing isn't my cup of tea.

Any plans for a virtual raver game on the Wii as I'd be good at that

Anyway, I'm not slagging it off as it's a great gaming system and I'll be getting one like I said once there are more "grade A" titles available to keep my slowly decreasing attention span on the screen.

Ah the good old 'its not out yet but its this good' stuff.

Two can play at that game son... just you wait for Mario Galaxy, its gonna be bettererer than Halo 4!

How similar to Zelda is Alan Wake actually going to be? Is it a game about some geezer walking around chopping bushes with a sword, turning into a Wolf, and collecting pendants?
