well the xbox thrashes the wii on online play but the wii has so many advanced features, such as the sensor bar and the ability to download old virtual console games. if i was you you should get a wii and use the rest to accesoried it. Hope that helps you :0)

Im desperately, desperately trying to justify buying a Wii. I really want one, but it just doesn't have the games to keep me busy for over a couple of months.

Have a look at what's out and what's coming out and choose based on that. For me, it just doesn't make sense (yet )

Great thing with the Wii is that I can literally play it for short periods of time and then leave it at will

    other consoles....not really IMO
It's best to try someone elses first though to make sure you like it, and not just the sports ones

What else do you have, Merlin? Decent PC? PS3? HDTV? And do you have friends coming over often?

If you've already got a decent PC, get a Wii to complement it nicely. If you've got a decent HDTV, a 360 will complement that nicely.

Bear in mind that the 360 is still very noisy!

The Wii does have a fair few good games, now - Zelda, Rayman, SSX Blur, DBZ:BT2, Godfather, and Resi 4 Wii-release in a few weeks! Mario Strikers is also pretty good, apparently. But it's definitely more of a social console than a hardcore console. (Hope that helps!)

My Pc is fine for what i play. JEdi night 2 and css. So im happy with setup.

Im basically looking for a bit of instant action when i get bored of my pc. Got 2 flat m8s who love consoles also, so multiplayer will def be on the cards.

Im also all about competing so some online play is quite essential.
If super smash brotheres brawl was out then the answer would be simple.

Im jsut worried that there arnt any good games to keep me interested right here and now on the wii. But then i havent had a massive look at what is to offer.

I never played the wii, and only played 360 for 2 hours

I want a Wii, but like Adey I don't want to buy it as a Zelda box until the other big hitters come out.

IMHO this is the state of play in Wii world...

    Out Now And Worth Buying

    Zelda: TP
Its the latest Zelda, nuff said really. If you don't like it, then you are the sort of nob who doesn't like the Godfather, Star Wars, Ice Cream, and sex. Buy it, play it, love it.

    Super Monkey Ball: BB
Lovely Monkey Ball. The 2 Cube outings were great, stupidly hard, but great fun. This one is more of the same, with added tilt goodness and a better look. Stay away from the mini games, enjoy the challenge of the single player.

    Mario Strikers Charged
Only played this for a bit, but its great fun, and Nintendo have diped their toes into the online world, which can only be a good thing. The HEXUS Wii owning folk seem to think its a winner.

    Metal Slug Anthology
Depends if you like Metal Slug I suppose (its like Contra), but this is Metal Slug 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and X, and they are all side-scrolling goodness. Very hard, insane bosses, all the usual stuff from games of that era. Fun though, most importantly. Get a GameCube pad though or don't bother with it.

Problem is, outside those slim pickings, there aint much around. Plenty on the way, but you'll have to wait for the like of Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edit (mmmm, nice), and the other big hitters.

Then you have the VC games, which I wont bother to list, but its the usually mix of Mario, Zelda, Sonic and the like, with a few lesser known but still great games, like Act Raiser . No proper Street Fighter yet though (and by proper I mean Turbo)

Personally, I'm waiting to be sold on it, Zelda is always there to tempt me, but I want 3 or 4 must haves before I finally cave in.

You forgot Rayman: Raving Rabbids and Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenchaiki 2 and that Godfather game (unless you're the sort of nob that doesn't like the Godfather) and possibly that new Mortal Kombat: Umm... Wii game. And SSX: Blur has been popular, too.

(I found Monkey Ball Wii to be a bit crap, and I got bored of Zelda halfway through)

Most of my Wii-Time has been spent on Wii Sports and Wii Play with friends, though.

    Dragonball? DRAGONBALL? DRAGONBALL?

Any good? I've never so much as seen a Dragonball game running. Weird Jap-o-nesey stuff aint it?

He who gets bored of Zelda half way through, doesn't see the 2nd half of Zelda. there is a moral there, my son.

End of Sep for Mario Galaxy (but could be any time really), RE4 is the end of June and the only one of those few thats out soon.

Smash Bros by xmas maybe? Don't hold your breath for Metroid either.

Nintendo do not rush game out to say the least.
