    crysis info!!!!!!!!!

check this article out, its a damm good read and will persuade you even more to buy this game!

    http://www.gamesradar.com/gb/pc/game...sectionId=1001

    here are some quotes:

Yes, you can pick up, throw and even beat people with live chickens. You can pick up, throw and beat people with anything smaller than a car, and in this we include wheelbarrows, spades, tree trunks, grown men and even most of a car. At one point in our playtest we shot a man’s helmet off, caught it, beat him to the ground with it, shot him again and dropped it on his body. Anything smaller than a tree can be held in your left hand while you fire with your right, even when you’re using an assault rifle or shotgun
Every sane person is wondering how all this is going to run on their system. We asked Cevat Yerli, Crytek CEO, what gamers with a limited budget should buy to make sure they can play Crysis well, and his first answer was two gigs of RAM. The single gig most of us have is going to struggle with environments of this size, and with this much smashable stuff to keep track of. Next on the shopping list is, predictably, a GeForce 8800 - but the GTS model in that range is fairly affordable, and not a huge step down from the GTX. The surprising part is that Cevat says a Core 2 Duo E6600 processor is enough to run Crysis on Ultra High settings with that setup. That chip is likely to undergo another price drop before Crysis comes out, too, so don’t rush.
But here’s the really crazy part: it took Crytek two years to make it possible to shoot a tree in half. They got it working the day before they had to demo it to the press, a video of the presentation quickly went online, and just as quickly racked up 50 million downloads. So it was worth doing, but it was inordinately hard.

umm im not too sure, maybe you will be able to play on medium settings with that card. an 8800 can play on max setting and by the time crysis comes out, nvidia will most likely released a new card (9800GTX ?) and prices for a 8800 would have fallen dramaticly

All and all its good news has you do not have to buy a £300 card to play this in its full glory(assuming you purchase a card at the time this is released)

this article is from the latest pcgamer, i chatted about it in another thread
especially when you got crysis "the first game worth upgrading to vista for" anyone read the preview of the alpha in pcgamer? throwing chickens@ koreans
Will def get the game, my systems waiting to be updated to vista and there's no reason YET...by then it should all be patched up, my cards just waiting to get stuck into dx10 goodness, i know most of the videos are actually dx9!!! as for your x1900xt your be fine, its an shader intensive card which will help crysis, not sure if your be able to max things out but as long as your cores up to it it wouldnt be far off max!!!

If there was ever an excuse for me to build uber system revision 3, that game is it.

I shall go and see if my shares have gone up a little to warranty selling them and spending on PC bits.

I'm sorry but I call BS on that last one. No company would support research in shooting 1 tree in half. Perhaps its marketing speak for "...and it took us to years to deveop an engine to get damage realistic enough then we rushed out a demo of it".

The marketing for games is so hyped now its like movies were a bout 5 years ago.

your missing the point, the whole reason it took them 2 years to get right was the enemy a.i being able to deal with fallen trees / foliage, you shoot a tree in half and the soldiers run and hide behind it!!! they got to a point where the devs where breaking trees holding a great big branch in front of them and the a.i not responding because it couldnt see anything, so they had to program the a.i to respond to a walking tree, i.e look a walking tree thats rather suspcious!!! This game can receive all the hype it wants because it will live up to it.
