    Howdy and an enquiry

Hello. First post. Got a quick question.

I recently bought a Mesh M677 with AMD dual core 2 * 1.8 gig processor, 1 gig ram (soon to be upgraded to 2 gig) and a 256mb GeForce Go 7600 graphics. And I was wondering if there's a hope in hell of me running Oblivion, even on low specs. I'm being hopeful and am pretty sure I wont be able to.

Anywho, any response will be muchly appreciate. Thanks

    Have a pleasant afternoon.

My old system would run oblivion and it was a Athlon 2000+ with a GeForce 6600 and 1gb DDR. I think what you have is plenty.

You should be able to run Oblivion on that spec. Try it on 1024x768 first off then take it down to 800x600. Keep shadows on medium or low and draw distance on near. I ran it on a Barton 2500+ Socket A with 1 Gb ram and a 128Mb 6600 GT AGP. Had most settings on medium with some of the sliders going towards high in 800x600.

agreed.....it'll play ok. But that video card would be adviseable to upgrade before you go with more ram.

A 7600 Go is'nt really rocket power. The Core2Duo and stuff however is just fine and dandy.

Get a 7900 GS or an X1950 and you'll be laughing

oops...didnt realise it was a laptop.

He's right then.....the extra gig of ram is your only upgrade option really.

    Hello again

Thank you for all your help, tis muchly appreciated. I can finally order it, yepee

And yeah, shame about the graphics card but it's the best I could find for the price (£640). All things considered though, I think I got a cracking deal and am very pleased.

The fact that my sister's laptop was basically a glorified typewriter and merely surfing the internet was pushing it a step too far means I would've been happy with anything that didn't crash 5 mins after booting it up and anything other than that would've been a bonus =)

So yeah, me happy and thanks again

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Oh and thanks specially to vc54321. I can see that link being very helpful in the near future!
