    help ID old rally game

Aftre enjoying Dirt so much, I still get frustrated the way you keep getting put on track if you wander off road too much

I remember playing a PC demo within the last 2 years or so, where a new rally game's claim to being great was that you could just pretty much drive anywhere.

Anyone any ideas what it was called?!

What was the rally game on the snes that used the FX chip, id just turn around at the start and you had a massive area to just rag around in.

Slightly aside but there's a 4x4 game (think Screamer 4x4 but more up-to-date) that has been made using the Xpand engine. Only problem is, it's in Russian only at the moment. There's a thread on RSC forums about it.

I remember Screamer Rally back in the day - tried to get it running again, but it's a DOS game that needs a 3dfx card and SB16 bah!!

Screamer 4x4, however, runs fine in XP and is still good fun, albeit a bit dated.

screamer rally was most certainly a windows game, maybe dos too, but def's windows. as a yank would say..."HECK even screamer1 had a seperate dos and windows mode!"

Lol big red racing was awesome, wasnt there a 320x240 mode and a hi-res 640x480 mode? pretty sure the 486 could only cope with 320x240
