looking for similar game to wipeout

For some reason I loved wipeout on the PS2 and I got to thinking today how I'd love to have a copy on my laptop for a quick blast when needed. Or a newer game with a similar setup.

So are there any similar but newer games available for PC that anyone could reccommend please?

    Cheers, Rhyth.
    Rhyth is selling:
Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di ll LD Aspherical (IF) £230 +pp

If you liked wipeout you'd probably like Rollcage 1 and 2. Old games, mind you.

There's a good chance you'd like trackmania as well.

You could always emulate the ps1 or n64 wipeout on your lappy, or:

    Wipeout 2097 PC version

The original Wipeout, PC version again.

Thanks chaps. Strange how there isnt more space racing games out there....I guess it's all cars.

Maybe I should move to fully fledged flying games?

Ah yes I think I remember Rollcage, definatly another potentialy fun laptop game for a quick blast!

Wipeout was a game where you had to use the force, at the top levels it required knowing the track and flying on instinct.

Thinking wasn't something you could do while playing Wipeout.

As previously suggested, the only thing anything like as fast on pc that i can think of is trackmania. Which is pretty awesome, although maybe not exactly what youre looking for.

I'm pretty sure i bought ballistics after playing the demo... good fun although you are confined to a 'tunnel' which you cruise down, rather than the slightly-more-open track that you get with wipeout... gve the demo a try

Dethkarz? Xtreme Air Racer? Re-Volt? All are quite old now, though.
