I wasn't going to say because I didn't want to be the only nutter But idimmu already said it
MMORPG's are a different animal.. I've spent around 25 hours in one sitting. I did take the odd 10 minute break to make some dinner and stuff, but it was pretty much 25+ hours straight. Its all due to "EverQuest". It was a phernomena at the time though. It was like an alternative reality... Another life I had in a virtual world... And everyone was hugely obsessed with it. I was playing with real life friends and people from around the world, and we where all really serious about doing well etc.. It was amazing. Best gaming experience I've ever had by far.
I was in my mid teens then though, so I'm not sure I could do that anymore. Not that theres any games like that anymore
I do still spend the occasional entire day (10 hours or so), playing a game nowdays. Civ4, or CSS, etc.. the games mentioned by others in this thread. But thats rare that I do that.
Don't think i could spend 25 hours at a time in front of screen! I think the longest ive ever say playing a game was maybe 6 hours...and that was the original half life...problem is not many games these days hold my attention for that long
A long time ago, in a county far far away, I came home from work one evening and fired up my cousin's Atari ST and played Strike Eagle II from 9pm until 7am stopping only for coffee (lots of it) and toilet breaks (even more of them). Playing as a 2 man crew and messing around a lot, we wiped every scenario clean without being hit. Loads of very innocent fun.
That was 15 years ago I think. Don't have the same stamina now. I need my beauty sleep.
nope i really dont have the ablity to do this anymore, tried to havr a good long sesh last night but just got too tired at about 4:30am

However, I once bought a US copy of Bust-A-Move 2 for the Saturn from Ebay. When it turned up a week later I fired it up at 8pm. At 4am the next morning I was suddenly aware that I had no sensation coming from my arse at all. I'd been sat there for 8 hours straight, playing constantly- no movement, no toilet breaks, no food, no drink, for 8 hours. And I still hadn't completed the bastard.
I did subsequently.
Longest session was surprisingly RTCW - Multiplayer at a local internet cafe weekender - Wasnt straight session (mabye an hours worth of cs 1.6 in the middle of it) but was for over 20odd hours
Never ever played it again
Can easy do 16-18hours on World of Warcraft in a weekend
It must surely be football manager 07. Such a sweet game you can't turn it off. Probably about 14hrs straight, but in a week it takes up more of my time than breathing.
Haven't bought FM07 yet, having too much fun with FM06. Might just skip onto FM08 lol. But for averages the Championship Manager now Football Manager series has to be up there. Can play them in 10 hour stints easy. Although my first true addiction may have been Goldeneye on the N64. Completed that game totally over a weekend for a friend, getting all cheats etc too. Don't ask me why he paid me to do it, takes the fun out of the game I thought, but I took the fools money.
Maybe he just wanted the awesome cheats - All Guns, Invincibility etc as you had to complete things quickly to get them, took skill, time, determination... til Rare let out the Cheat codes some years later.
When I first got BF2 I remeber a really long stint: I started playing on Fri night probably about 10pm and finished playing on Sunday night just after midnight. Only breaks I took was to the toilet and to reply to my girlfriends constant moaning, I mean cant a guy play a game without the missus having a go jeeez. I did consume a load of coffee and wacky backy and funny enuf I didnt feel that tired when I went to bed but at times I did think i wud pass out but I got over that
A couple of months ago some mates and myself dusted off Birth of the Federation and ended up with a 16 hour LAN session. Well I lasted 16 hours before a Romulan/Cardasian alliance turned on my Klingon ass and blew me away.
longest single is probably about 13 hour lan parties with friends and i usually play around 5 hours most days of whatever game i feel like, usually GW or CS:S atm
I can remeber a few...
Me and 3 friends drinking beer and playing Rocky on the PS2 for nearly 12 hrs.
A time I put in 17 hrs. straight (with the exeption of bathroom breaks) on Final Fantasy VI
A 14 hr. marathon on Final Fantasy XII a couple of months back farming for rare items
A 7 hr. 3-way game of Empire Earth against two friends (Prehistori - Modern Ages)
I don't remember the time, but I beat Ultimate Doom & Doom 2 back to back on Ultra-Violence. 10 hrs. maybe? I can't remember...
I clocked Farenheit in one sitting the first time I played it, just drew me in, that was probably between eight and ten hours, clocked Metal Gear Solid 3 in a similar fashion that was about sixteen hours I think, the longest I've ever (and probably will ever) played for was twenty seven hours, I started playing Le Mans 24 Hour on the Dreamcast one friday night when I got in from school, played for a couple of hours and then decided I had to do the real time 24 hour race just once, I left it too long between cups of coffee at around the twenty two hour mark and drifted off to sleep for a few minutes, I woke up mid corner at 40mph to discover I'd been driving in my sleep and completed two laps....
me + 3 friends + spar doing bogof on haribo in the summer. Playing perfect dark 4 players vs 8 dark sims. There was nothing more fun tbh. Prob went from 10am to 3/4 am then woke up and did the same over the weekend
