Yeah completed it last night, its not that good actually, you fight a giant snowman at the end, all the snow stuff gets a bit boring, the wonderful physics and graphics are just superficial, its serious sam in the sun/snow

think of playing Counter-Strike with a speedhack that's controlled by using your knife. Yeah, it got about as boring as that could after about 15 minutes.
see told ya it was boring

I just got 16 November from play.com. It may well be wrong though

EDIT: Amazon says 14 Sept as do most sites.

Does anyone think the graphics will be enough to make up for the gameplay problems?

    Re: Crysis

that link is an interesting read...but you have to bear in mind it was a very very rough copy of the game and it makes it sound like it was designed just as a test level rather than what the end user will play. I will hold judgement till its actually fully finished....looks damn good though!

    Re: Crysis

That link is to the BETA code running on display machines on SCAN's stand at i31.

If the writers had actually taken the trouble to talk to EA they would've found out that the code they played was more of a tech demo and not representative of Crysis the game. It's more of a playable hardware test like Half Life 2's Lost Coast was an HDR test.

So yes, you could kill everyone easily, but the point of a tech demo is to stay alive long enough to look around, so that's WHY everyone died so easily.

As to the AI, I can't comment but having seen several versions of Crysis as it's been developed I'd be willing to bet that there was not much more than reactive AI running...

That's what miffs me off about 'previews' written from public BETA code... unless you actually talk to the devs/publishers, how the hell do you know what you're playing?

But keep tuned for Crysis as we have something VERY special coming up next week....
