I know someone who got to the end without using a suit or any arifacts, but he said he got fed up of downing anti-rads every 5 seconds
One of the best suits I found to protect against radiation was the Scientist in Yantar (the trader, he sells 2 or 3 suits), although thats a fair trek back, and if you are as far as the NPP then i dont think its possible to run back, you would have to go back to an earlier saveI found one or two suits lying about quite far into it, but its a fair old trek in and would probably spoil the enjoyment of working your way through if you just had to peg it everywhere to minimise the radiation.
is that the bunker suit? the one where the zombies are circling it?
cheers for the info![]()
You wait till you get into the npp without any rad suit protection, luckly i had about 60 syringes and got down to about 6 by the time i had got to the main reactor, do look about for the suit that gives you 70 weight 80 max, you always can buy the Stalker suit, its protection is only medium; you should really rely on the Duty HEV suit, SEVA suit, or the best SSP-99M green spacesuit for Pripyat and Chernobyl.
The radiation there is a bloody pita. You need the best suit you can get 80% + radiation and loads of anti-rad syringes. I'm almost at the core but gave up even though I have a 90% rad suit. I carried every weapon, every suit, enough ammo to stock Nato to the last check point. What did I not take? Yep the 50 or 60 rad kits I'll need.
Saving is the most important aspect of this game otherwise it becomes a royal pita.

The suit I used only started with about 40 or 50% radiation protection to start with, got worse quite quickly as I got shot up during the level. I already had to ditch one of the SSP suits before I made it to NPP cos it got shot up so badly.
With that 'average' suit, I just used 3 arifacts that gave +70 radiation (2 fireballs and a +30 one), plus a 600% health and 5% bulletproof (with no negatives) artifact, and found there were very few places that I needed to use an anti-rad, and only then it was because I was exploring places I didnt really need to go.
so the idea is to get artifacts that reduce it rather than the suit .. cheers for that mate ... fireballs hey .... thanks for the heads up ...

Either Crystal (-18 endurance) or Urchin (+100 bleeding) are pretty handy if you want to do any serious nosing about in hot zones. I prefer Crystal but if you are having endurance problems Urchin + either Mica or Slug shouldn't be too bad. Or you may be a diva at bullet-dodging, in which case you can just use Urchin on its own.
