Mind you that's been replaced by the need to constantly patch & update software! With a PC it's a learning experience and I'm sure that it teaches young kids about computers and how they work. Consoles are just too easy!
PC every time! Costs are a little higher of course but for graphical fidelity and performance no console is ever going to out perform a high end PC.
What we share with everyone is glum, and dark...
Although I love a good bout of console gaming, it would have to be PC for me. I could therefore play strategy type games (civ, aoe etc), rts (dow etc), sims (IL2) and Footy manager. All of these would give me much more time per game than most console games.
Not around too often!
PC for me too, You can play almost every game type on a PC more effectively than you can on a console (IMO)

Console. Always have been a big fan of consoles, i prefer their ease of use & set-up, i know that any game i buy will work out of the box with no patching needed.
Although saying all that, try prise me off my pc at the moment, i don't think you could, i'm too addicted to WoW![]()
Personally I go with PC, however, if only you didn't have to constantly upgrade to run the latest games in decent resolutions with eye candy enabled.
This is where consoles make life easier, I bought Dirt for the 360 as it would cripple my PC. So I guess it all comes down to what you want to play. At the min I'm in 2 minds whether to get Bioshock for the PC or 360. My PC should run it ok but I know my 360 will straight out the box.
PC, purely because the types of games I play (RTS, RPG, MMORPG) aren't really available on consoles. However, where consoles do shine is having 4 people play on one machine; especially when drunk.
PC all the way.
Atm I`m playing wow a lot so wouldnt be able to live without that.
Plus football manager, Football manager live and Civilization 4 are best on pcs
Consoles are good for a quick blast but for the real gaming experience its the pc each time. Just wish some developors would remember that
I voted for PC really.
The reason for this is due to the ability to download and use maps and content generated by others to expand the game. For example, DoW - I now have over 80 maps and this has extended the lifespan of the game from a month to well over a year.
Not only this - but games such as RTS are designed to use a keyboard and mouse. Playing C&C3 on the xbox360 with a joypad is akin to showering in a rubber wetsuit, it just doesn't feel right no matter how long you go and play it.
there are hundreds of "real gaming experiences" which are superior on consoles. the same applies for PCs. it's not about whether one platform is inherently better, it's whether a game is developed to make full use of the resources a platform offers - an all-time classic like mario 64 with a keyboard & mouse? erm, no
If it was a question of having to use said item for a fairly lengthy period of time, in other words no upgrading, then I'd go with a 360.
It always seems that, even as consoles are nearing the end of their lifespan, developers still find ways to wring an extra bit of performance out of them. With a PC they simply make you upgrade, and put the onus on you to go to the trouble and expense of getting the performance. Fair enough if you think it's worth it, but personally I'm not so sure anymore.
In actual fact, regardless of upgrading, I'd probably still go with 360. I've hardly bought a game for my PC since I got one. If I ever get round to builidng a living-room PC to hook up to the TV this might change, but I much prefer playing on a big screen in the living room than playing on a 20" monitor in the spare bedroom![]()
