    Stalker discussion (may contain spoilers)

Just completed the game after not much play.... didn't find strelok (how do you find out where he is?), only did about 5 side missions, surely there's more to it than this? I'd only just got some decent weapons, I found ONE grenade for the underslung gren launcher all game, and one rocket for the bazooka.... did I miss something? Where was all the game play? No missions around Pripyat it seems, you just run right through it.... and when you complete the main storyline, that's it, no more freeplay!?! Very miffed

All the gameplay is in the side missions, the main storyline is pretty short. Personally, I didn't find the game that great.

    ** endgame spoiler below **

If you didn't find Strelok then I would say you didn't complete the game through to its proper ending. I think there are 7 different endings. 5 are considered 'fake', 2 are considered possible 'proper' endings. fake is probably the wrong word, but basically if your game ended when you reached the monolith, then there is more to the game (probably about an hour and a half depending on which options you take) if you can find a different way to go. In order to take the other route though, you needed a mission prior to making it to the reactor, which took you to a hotel to get some items. If you want to know more I suggest you take a look over at gamefaqs If you take the other route, you will find out a lot more about Strelok.

Thanks, unfortunately I've no save games from that early on as I didn't anticipate it to end so soon with no option to do any more missions, and can't really be bothered doing it again...... thanks for the info though

If you aren't going to play it again, but are interested in the story line, then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.T.A.L...w_of_Chernobyl gives a decen't rundown of the plot and endings

Re: Stalker discussion (may contain spoilers)

Cheers, must say it was very confusing, most of the time I didn't know what I was doing, why I was breaking in to places, etc. Still can't believe I got most of the good weapons within 5 minutes of the end......... didn't get the opportunity to fire even one shot with the Gauss gun.... pathetic game design really, although I suppose they only had, what, 10 years to get it perfected!
