    Bioshock demo and anti-aliasing

I downloaded the Bioshock demo from Steam.
I noticed there is no AA in the game, and no in-game options to set any.

So I applied some in the nVidia control panel, over-riding the game. This doesn't haven't any affect - doesn't matter what changes I make, the game appears to make its own choices about AA.

Anybody else seen this, or am I doing something wrong?

I'm running an nVidia 8800GTS on Windows XP SP2 by the way, with the latest official drivers.

I also noticed that there was no option for aa in the game. It could just be the demo though. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'll give it a go and post back in a bit.

EDIT: I've just used the new drivers with my 8800gtx and it made no difference. No options in the menu for AA but I didn't try forcing it using the driver menu.

    Re: Bioshock demo and anti-aliasing

I'm reticent about installing about installing the latest drivers, as it works fine with the set I have. I thought the beta drivers made some performance tweaks.
Its a nice looking game (running at 1280x1024), but would look nicer with some AA!

    Re: Bioshock demo and anti-aliasing

There's some comments here with some comments on AA in Bioshock. Not sure if it helps tho. I've heard other reasons why AA isn't working, but not willing to post them as unsure if their correct or not.

As for the beta driver, the new drivers are supposed to have some real performance improvements, not just in Bioshock. I also believe they are recommended by 2K when you install the demo/game. I think that ATI also have some sort of driver update for Bioshock.

    Re: Bioshock demo and anti-aliasing

Could it be that the AA is reserved for dx10 users?

Could it be that the use of AA in such an already spectacular environment would break pcs!! or maybe just that the drivers haven't yet incorperated full support for the game AA yet?

Probably the latter, I'll be waiting a couple of months to see what happens..

Wow that looks really promising! Has anybody tried that tool with Bioshock yet?
