if you want absolute realism then get Grand Prix 4. Its been out a while now so should be cheap?
Good graphics, and it handles well even if you have to use a keyboard although a steering wheel is always more fun

If you want fun then Need for Speed: Underground. Red/Orange Scooby with flames coming from the wheel arches. Need i say more?

Need for Speed: Underground is fun... very good game..

I still enjoy Toca Race Driver though. takes a bit of care to master the game. Unlike most car games where ya can plow into a corner at 120mph and expect it to grip... Toca skids off... You "NEED" to use the brakes

hmm i have to disagree wit u there XTR, i have played the demo and a bit of the game for PC and PS2 and it is as easy as plowing through corners,
    i'd recommend Rallisport Challenge.
    AMD 64 3400, Geforce FX 5800, 2x 80GB HDD, ASUS K8V Deluxe, Kingston PC3200 1GB valueram.

Need For Speed Underground is a rush I just got this, great fun

Toca Race Car Driver is good too.

Also, Need For Speed Porsche 2000. It's old but I still give it a whirl now and again.

And finally, F1 2002 is quite good if you like F1 racing, lots of difficulty options in there, you can make it as easy or as realistic as you like.

yeh i love that!!!! I wished they had done the same game but for other car manufacturers too I may have to install that again now!!!

I tend to find car games are a little to easy nowadays... I've played NFSU on hard and i still managed to beat the computer by a good 7-10 seconds in a race. Maybe im just too good Even the odd race i've played online, i come first each time!

Unlike the other games, this is a racing simulation. It's only twelve quid as well, and there's 2 more parts to be added on to the game. The physics are fantastic, and the online gameplay is out of this world.

    Porsche 2000 gets another vote...

truly great and SO WELL MODELED...those 911's were a nightmare in real life and just as hard in the game.

Career mode was great..from skid pan to driving the boss of Porsche to the train station flat out through a city.

Excellent snow effects in the mountain stages, ...

    just bloody brilliant

BUT ... apparently not stable on XP

I aint dared install it on mine since upgrading to XP..but Im sorely tempted...now I have a 9800 Pro....it would be HEAVEN
