    Stalker updates.

    Right basic question I've just reinstalled stalker as I had a reinstall of xp.

    Now numpty here didn't back up the saved games so Im back to the start and Im just wondering whether or not to install the updates, does it make the game play any better.???

    Yes, the latest update increases FPS by 10-15%, aparently .

    Gameshadow is free to download (they also do a premiium service for less than some mag suscriptions) and is excellent since it can scan your hard disk for installed games then show you what updates (mods, patches etc) are available for them, which again, are free. There's a monthly download limit for the free version but it seems quite generous to me.

    also fileplanet although avoid them for small downloads as the 40 min wait can be annoying
