    Re: ET:QW Demo out tomorrow!

Didn't run great on my A64 3500/6800GT, but was playable at 1440x900 medium/low settings.

Seems like a fast paced version of battlefield 2, although I didn't really know what was going on for the most part i still managed to rank up 2-3 times in the first game
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I ran it last night on my 7900GTO at 1280x1024, it was very smooth.

I'm using the latest official nvidia drivers - v162.22. Some beta drivers were released yesterday though, so they might be worth a try too - v163.67

    Re: ET:QW Demo out tomorrow!

    Running 1680 x 1050 / 2x AA / 16x AF / Vsync On:

Very stable 30FPS but it takes a few seconds at the beginning of the round to smooth out:

Not amazed though, there's still some glitches and if you look closely at the bridge it's pretty messy.

EDIT: Full size screenshot available HERE - the file's slightly compressed but you'll see what I mean.

On that rig, it should run extremely well, so it definitely seems like a driver problem.

Something that has worked for people on the ETQW forums is going to the nVidia 3D Settings panel - and change it to the single-display performance mode setting. It's quite a common issue.

    Re: ET:QW Demo out tomorrow!

I've not been following this all that much. I've just downloaded the demo and I'm about to give it ago.

Is it anything like Planetside,Will there be a sub each month when it's out, also do you stay on the same server or just join any server when you fancy a game like BF2?

    Thanks

I played this for an hour and...I won't bother getting this. Run fine (widescreen too ) but BF2 did everything that ET has, and that was 2 years ago.

Well if it has half the bugs BF2 does it's got to be better.

    Re: ET:QW Demo out tomorrow!

I really like the look and the feel of the gameplay, feels a lot better than bf2142, more like bf2 in a quake universe.

Nice touches include the option to select the missions you want to do, i suppose this is supposed to support more squad based play.

Nice weapon choices and plenty of kit to use.

The moveable grass is a pain in the ass whilst sniping though! damn realism!
