Done and done, very good value all things included, moreso if you don't have HL2 yet...no excuse for that though!
bit miffed that they ditched the black box option though.. all my game-playing friends already have Half Life 2 so it's a bit of a waste really...
still gonna get it cos i want TF2 and Ep2 but a bit miffed
you can give the hl2 and ep1 as a gift to someone.
I checked Steam forums today, and gawd you can't please some people can you. $44.95 for 3 games that would otherwise cost about $80 if bought alone; yet they're all bitching that they already have HL2 and Ep1 - and that Valve is screwing over it's loyal fans... TBH if they act like spoilt children such as that, they deserve to be screwed over by Valve; even though they aren't.
is there anyway i can buy it and add ep 2 and tf2 to my account and put hl2 and css on a different account for a mate as he had his steam account stolen so is currently using mine in offline mode to play HL2
there is a thing on the bottom about that
I believe you can only transfer hl2 and ep1 over to someone else if it finds them on your steam account already. Also, I don't believe css comes with the Orange Box.
To be honest i agree that you should just be able to buy the games you want. I am only interested in team fortress two. So i will only want to pay for team fortress two. Don't know why they don't just give you that option in the first place.
Neon
EDIT: maybe you can already buy it seperate? Im not sure.

Yep you can buy them seperately, if you only want to buy one of them. However as mentioned above for all 3 new items, it way more expensive than the price of the orange box package.
With the 10% discount for pre-purchasing, the steam price is actually competitive with places like amazon and play for once.
How does this price compare with normal e-tailers? if its a fraction more expensive like steam usually is on new releases, you may as well just go for this to get the Beta of TF2..
Currently Amazon is £25, play.com is £27. Havent looked elsewhere as i usually buy from one of those two. Through steam (taking into account uk vat and 10% prepurchase discount, and my credit cards current xfer rate of $1.95 to £ its £27 via steam. With the beta available on monday, and you also get a free mini game (peggle extreme), I'm going the steam route for the first time for a major release.
Orange box is £26.70 through paypal and steam, and you can pass HL2 onto a friend if you have it already, and you get peggle extreme....that is a good deal IMO
Individual price $129.75
Package price $49.95
works out as like $55 with tax
I never played E1 so this would be a worth while deal for me. TF2 looks awesome and I'd love to get in on the beta. Think I'll install Steam tonight and get thi rolling.
