actually i didnt, as it says at the convention they had it running on dual 8800GTX, plus if youve seen any of the trailers you can see why i was wondering. Especially as ive already ordered it

    Re: Crysis required spec?

they say you can run the game at some level with as little as a 7600gt

so you will be able to play it at some level

alot depends on how efficient they make the coding for the game the more efficient it is the smoother running we will get on it

To be fair, virtually no systems could run FarCry on high res / best settings at launch.

    No kidding.
I would really hope for your sake that it'll run nicely on your new machine, as that's a pretty good spec - it'd be a real shame to have upgraded and find it doesn't cut it!

    Re: Crysis required spec?

I did the system requirments test and it says my video card failed?

But it says recomended chipset is 7900?

Anyone else get this with an 8800 gts?

I know it's only a glitch and it'll run with resonable specs, but it's very strange.

That system requirements site is great.

Its so depressing to see my E6600 barely pass the test though :/

dont worry, my pc seems to pass with flying colours but i played the beta and it wasn't really smooth.

    AMD 4600+ X2 + 7900GTX + 2gb of ram...
i oced the cpu and still no major difference. I had to play on low at 1024 x 768 to get a smooth framerate. i can only await ut3 to see if it runs smoooth on that. ut's engines have always been the best.

but yea dont worry acrobat your system is wayyy better than mine plus u got a gtx! its 1 series ahead of mine, you'll be able to play fine at high ish res's.

    Re: Crysis required spec?

Beta performance wont be the same as the final release performance. There's numerous debugging options still turned on.

Improved drivers from ATI/nVidia will help as well.

XP gives best performance at the mo, Vista needs 4GB ram for high settings.

I'd say for high settings DX9 you're looking at an E6600, 2GB and a 2900/GTS (depends on res as to whether 320/640MB). My E6600@3.6Ghz, 2GB and GTX at 626/2000 is fine for XP, but laggs slightly in Vista @1680x1050.

    CPUs:- Xeon 3060 | Q6600 G0
    Mobos:- MSI P7N2 Diamond 790i / MSI X48C Platinum | Asus P5K Deluxe
    RAM:- Kingston HyperX PC3-14400 | Team Xtreem PC2-6400C3 | Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 | Kingston PC2-9600
    Graphics:- PNY 9800GX2 | EVGA 8800GTX
    PSUs:- Antec TPQ-1KW | Ultra X-Pro 600w EE
    Cooling:- Nozzled FuZion | MCW60 | DDC w/ DDCT-01s | PA120.3

Thanks I hope so. This game is one of the main reasons I bought this PC. Although, UT2k7 is high on my list too.
