    COD2 error

I installed and played COD2 last summer, then started uni so had to stop and haven't tried it since. Now I just tried it and I got the following error:

    D:\setup\rsrc\cod.exe

Executable 'D:\setup\rsrc\cod.exe' had the following unrecoverable error: Couldn't find library MSVCR80.dll (required by C:\PROGRA~1\WIFD1F~1\MpShHook.dll)
Please ensure that it is installed.

Uninstalled, tried to reinstall and it brings up that same thing when I try! Any ideas what's causing it and how to fix it?

    Cheers

    Re: COD2 error

I tried to PM htid but I didn't see the option to PM him in his profile, so I am bumping this thread. I am having the exact same problem. What did you do htid to solve this or does anyone else have a clue? Google does not give me very good help with this problem as it usually does...

You can't PM at the moment (check the rules for details) but a search of the intarwebs suggests that you can fix this by uninstalling Windows Defender (assuming you have it installed?)
