Wow, a game that finally reflects the true (exadurated) horrors of war... I'm not sure I even want to play it now!

Looks alike a good game. As for violence, I find shooting someone in the face at point-blank range looking clean and undramatic, more disturbing than red blood splat. If we're looking at this from the "oh my god computer games will turn my kid into Charles Manson", point of view.

My point is that this is getting so realistic you beging to wonder what you're doing playing any games based on running round murdering people...

Re: soldier of fortune 3 payback

Well i have to admit im a bit of a angry person and have a extremly short temper when things go wrong in work and life in general, for example when my BT HomoHub stopped working it was ripped from the computer, thrown out the bedroom, kicked downstairs, dragged thru the house and thrown out in the shreet, i just cant help it.

But i found playing violent games helps me calm down its like i wanna destory something or someone feeling, so blasting some computer models to peices helps my anger problem rather than some poor sod in real life or hardware etc.

That will more than likely come under some spot light given the current climate. It actually looks quite sick/brutal I have to be honest.

Except for better graphics, this is no different to SOF2. I remember running around with a shotgun blowing people's legs and arms off in that too.

Thats probably the main reason why more and more games of this nature are being scrutinized.

Re: soldier of fortune 3 payback

Yeh makes me laugh tho like when they had a pop at Hot Coffee mod for GTA its like not much was said about it befor this mod came along like parents were ok for their kids to play a game where you go alround jacking peoples cars, running people over, blowing cops away, yet as soon as a bit of hanky panky stuff comes along its like huge ****storm of OMG.... parents were like completly horrifed and shocked that their son was playing a video game that had some sexual nature to it. Then you got dorks like Hilary and Thompson crusading alround the country for hoping to ban violent games even for adults and that when a teenager does something violent its because he was playing some violent game at the time.. Its like hmmm first it was Music then it was Films errr what can we blame it on now ahhhh video games now, next it will be because kids wear dark clothing or dress funny or it rains too much...

Re: soldier of fortune 3 payback

The shot where the gren blows them against the car has a very filmlike quality! I always liked the style of SOF games I hope they keep the ability to shoot guns out of the enemies hands.

I played SOF2 MP more that any other game in history, so aslong as it's that fun I won't grumble.

Re: soldier of fortune 3 payback

I have fond memories of blasting people in SOF2 fast enough so just their torso was left in the air.

Which makes me sound like a serious weirdo.

I'm interested to see how this will pan out... Game-wise and ratings-wise.

Thats what I thought too. They could do a lot worse than basing one level in a chirch or cathedral. Old folks home, or even a childrens nursery. That free advertising on the evening news programs would work wonders.

I loved SOF2. Not sure if I would still enjoy that kind of thing now though. Im quite bored of FPS's.
