lol... didn't even know there was a third!
Street Fighter Alpha 3, yeh me and my buddies play this on the Xarcade with Mame it can get rather angry, sweaty and intense.
Hell and Fire was spawned to be released.
street fighter alpha 3 is not street fighter 3
street fighter 3 was called third strike, it was released on the arcades, dreamcast and maybe even the original xbox bringing many excellent additions with it such as the parry![]()
Actually it was Street Fighter III - The New Generation released in 1997
Street Fighter Alpha 3 was released in 1998 and is considered one of the best out of the series and based as a prequel to the 2nd series.
Third Strike was released in like 1999.

But as you can see theres so many SF Series games released its hard to tell which is from what etc.

Personally, I stopped following the various 'sub-releases' since Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.
Anyway, Third Strike one of several 'Street Fighter 3', whereas Alpha 3 was one of several 'Street Fighter Alpha'. Unless Capcom drops SF4 after the next one, we are going to see several SF4 as well.
And they have never improved on Street Fighter II Turbo on the humble SNES.
I definitely prefer SSFIIT over SFII'T to be honest. I wasn't too fussed about the 'Turbo' aspect, but I definitely appreciated the inclusion of 'super' specials.
street fighter 2 on the arcade was amazing, and street fighter 2 (+turbo at a push) was the most playable game on the planet. I openly challange anyone to a game on my snes.
It is Inevitable.....
At a push? Its the Turbo edition that made the game. Bosses + speed.
They are all incremental improvements to be honest. 'Super' added 4 new characters (and further differentiated Ryu and Ken), 'Super+Turbo' recovered the speed, added 'super special', and introduced Akuma.
Had one edition of SFII on mega drive, great game.
shame its only for the 360 though...
video is pretty sweet
loving the video, cant wait!! I remember the good old days on the SNES with my bro. We would play so long the skin would peel off our thumbs
