Oblivion problem... complete lack of rain....

well, I just got my new vostro, so I Installed the most graphically demanding game i have (oblivion). I set the settings on very high, and it seems to handle it perfectly well, except... well, i can hear the rain, but i cant see it!

any ideas on how to fix this?

What drivers are you using? The Dell nvidia ones are ok, and it gives you a good score on the Vista rating, but I would recommend using drivers from Laptopvideo2go.com. I'm on the Crysis nVidia drivers and it's a good way to keep on par with desktops in terms of graphics drivers and the issues they cause (since its a far bigger base to find solutions to your problems).
