    American Wii in UK?

I wanted to get my little brother a Wii for Christmas (yes i know its a little bit early, but demand is so high, its better to be early than late!), but I have been seeing that they are either out of stock, or on sale at exorbitant prices here in the UK.

I was wondering, (as googling it comes up with opposing answers) can I buy a US Wii and play it in the UK? as in, the power adapter (do i have to get a transformer, or ask ninendo for a new one). Are the games region locked? When i googled this it came up with lots of yes's and lots of no's. Lastly, are therea any differences in image quality (due to PAL having more lines than NTSC)?

Sorry to be asking so many questions, but a simple google search comes up with no substancial answer

It is region-locked, yes. I'd recommend getting one from the UK if possible. Try starting a Wii-hunt thread in Find Me A Bargain here.

Or get him a Crimson & Onyx DS from the states! They're beautiful! I love mine.

If you are thinking this early then you should be able to put a deposit down in a normal shop and just pay the rrp for it. Have a walk into game or somewhere and speak to them.

Penguin. I already have a DS that i hardly use, and so i let him borrow. I don't mean to be rude but he neeeds excersize, so i figured the Wii would be a good way to get him going. I'm going to post it in the bargains section, as suggested

Jim: thanks for the idea, I'll look into it

    DevilMayCry42,

We should be getting further European stock in the next couple of weeks.
