Are we going to see a Bioshock patch this side of Xmas?

Not that I'm really all that bothered anymore. My anticipation of playing this game has been killed stone dead. Last I heard, they were appealing for some testers on the forum at 2k.

Have you still not bought it? Either way, what are you hoping to be patched?

p.s. I really disliked the game by the way. Although most people loved it. I mention that just incase you haven't yet bought it. The fact that I didn't like it might make you feel better about missing out.

As I've bought it I do want to play it. I'm not in any hurry myself but it would be nice if they hurry up with it on principle. The publishers have been appallingly slow to address players issues. Securom aside, I've heard there are many of them with the game, including issues of poor mouse control.

I have it too and the only real issue that I have come across so far is the fac that the widescreen is not 'proper' in that its just a 4:3 with the top and bottom lopped off, instead of 4:3 with extra on the side.

Luckily theres a FOV patch, but its a pain to start it up before playing everytime. And it should just work. On principle.

Re: Are we going to see a Bioshock patch this side of Xmas?

The widescreen is how the devs intended it, the 4:3 view is the compromise one. Seeing 'more' is not the same as having the best experience

If you have it mate you should really be playing it rather than looking at the box waiting for a patch to be released, it really is a very good game and i've had no issues whatsoever with it.
Your missing out by not playing it, surely you cant be worried what problems might happen??

Re: Are we going to see a Bioshock patch this side of Xmas?

Although I played through and enjoyed it, I've been hoping for a patch to fix the few niggling annoyances I had before replaying it.

Whether or not that devs intended widescreen like that, it felt zoomed in and gave me a headache.

My main problem was with the mouse 'tho. Every time there was a level load, it felt like my mouse got stuck in treacle for a couple of minutes, and even after that it never felt quite right. Probably because it was developed with console controls in mind *grumble*.

As much as I hate to say it... I don't think it was a 10/10 game by any means. I loved the story/atmosphere, but I thought the combat was pretty horrible and just got in the way of exploring. Am I the only one?

Re: Are we going to see a Bioshock patch this side of Xmas?

No you're not the only one, I agree totally.

Awesome GFX, and story, really like the atmosphere, but the combat is shocking, far too consoly.

I hate the way you can start a level with so little health/ammo that you just have to restart the thing ten times to clear the big daddies, spawn, shoot, die, spawn with slightly less ammo/health, shoot, die...finally kill big daddy, then find more.

Levels seemed small and exploration not played on enough.

It is a fantastic game, but the combat stopped me playing 3-4 levels in. A real shame

Well, missed out or saved time! Problem is, when things seem that repetitive to me, I can only restart 2-3 times before i get bored and turn it off
