The greatest forgotten gem deal ever?

This is waaaay out of date but while indulging my nostalgia on a game fan website I noticed this piece of cover art:

    syndicate.lubie.org/downloads/swars_pictures/swars_covers_dos_cdrom_classic_ea_darkomen_box_front_hq.jpg

Both brilliant games, neither of them should ever have been found in the bargain bin but if I hadn't already bought them I would have wet my pants if I found this in a store.

PS Sorry about the image thing, there was me thinking it would work if I press the image botton and paste a link. Just put http:\\ in front of the address above to see the image.

Never played either of those, but remember the original Syndicate on my Amiga. That brings back fond memories. Remember renaming the characters you play to all people I knew, kinda dragged you right into the game and made you want to ace every level without a casualty

    Same.

And it's not as good as the Wing Commander 1 + Secret Missions 1&2 + Wing Commander 2 + Special Operations 1&2 + speech pack CD

Re: The greatest forgotten gem deal ever?

Wow Syndicate Wars. I remember that game being one of the biggest let downs I've experienced in my gaming history I loved the original, and then I remember seeing an early preview of Syndicate wars in some magazine. They showed some beautiful screenshots, and then talked about loads of amazing features, and then something terrible happened during the game's development. When the game finally made it out, it didn't have about half of those features... and it looked a bit ugly. It was also pretty much unplayable on most PC's at the time too, from what I can remember.

I did try it years later, but I couldn't really get into it. I did think about trying it again recently, but there are other similar games to be had nowdays I think.
